Pricinples of Effective GovernanceCollapse

Conflicts of interest are real. Meeting the challenges of compliance and addressing the appearance of conflict head-on is the best bet for good governance. There are clear rules that must be followed for 501(c)(3) and governmental entities. Meeting hard and fast rules is often the easy part of compliance. More complicated and delicate elements of conflicts of interest come in the day-today work of governance. This session will address the strategies trustees can use to be ahead of the game in policy and practice, set safe boundaries to identify emerging conflicts and sustain relationships when inevitable experiences of conflict arise.
